Beautiful area! Swimming in the lake surrounded by mountains so much fun! I do not recommend camping during bear season though, the bears like to hang around the campsites looking for food. But all camping areas do have campsite "managers" who are there to help and answer questions. The rangers do make scheduled rounds which is very nice. Campsite driveways are very small, our truck and car couldn't fit on it and it was a 2 vehicle driveway.
Beautiful campground. Clean facilities. A wonderful creek behind the camp sites. No firewood though, we had to buy outside the park.

Great campground for tent camping motorcyclists. Conveniently located just a short ride to the northern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway. White Oak Loop has large, level, tent pads in a tree shaded environment. The campsites are large enough for several tents and have the usual picnic table, fire ring and lamppost. No electricity or water at the campsites in this loop, water spigots are spaced around the campground, so be prepared. Clean modern bathhouses with plenty of hot water for showers.
